The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 150(3) of the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996[1] and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order: Citation and extent 1. - (1) This Order may be cited as the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act (England and Wales) (Commencement No. 4) Order 1998. (2) This Order shall extend only to England and Wales. Commencement 2. Sections 104 to 117 of the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996 (in so far as they are not already in force) shall come into force on 1st May 1998. Signed by authority of the Secretary of State Nick Raynsford Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions 6th March 1998 (This note is not part of the Order) This Order brings into force in England and Wales the provisions of Part II of the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996 (Construction Contracts England and Wales). The provisions of Part II enabling the Secretary of State to make orders or regulations (among other matters) were brought into force on 11th September 1996 by the earlier Commencement No. 1 Order.
